Cara is an experienced physiotherapist who is passionate about working with babies, children, adolescents and young adults. She strives to help each person identify and progress towards their goals.

Having completed her Masters of Advanced Paediatric Physiotherapy Practice (by Research) and Masters in International Public Health, she has been involved in both the clinical and research & policy development space to promote child health.

Cara is trained in a wide range of assessments, therapy techniques and equipment prescriptions including Australian Physiotherapy Association Paediatric Level 2, DMI therapy (Intermediate A), Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination, Neuro Sensory Motor Developmental Assessment (NSMDA), and body supports splints fittings. She is also a medical classifier for Cerebral Palsy Football. She has also attended training by Beverly Cusick, and regularly attends workshops, further training and conferences.

Cara’s Particular Areas of Interest:

  • Neurological impairment management

  • Gross motor skill development

  • Para-sport participation and classification

  • Intensive therapy

Cara’s Other Roles:

In addition to her clinical roles, Cara is the Lead Physiotherapist for the ParaMatildas National Football Team and current Chair of the NSW Branch APA Paediatric Physiotherapy Committee. She is also a casual academic at Sydney University and the University of Western Sydney, and regularly takes students from the University of Technology Sydney.
