Come & Try Frame Running

  • Sydney Olympic Park Warm-Up Track Edwin Flack Avenue Sydney Olympic Park, NSW, 2127 Australia (map)

Frame Running, also known as RaceRunning, is a liberating sport and is available to people with impaired balance, Cerebral Palsy, brain injury, high leg amputations, arthritis, Parkinson's and many other balance impairments.

Frame Running provides these people the ability to move by themselves. With a Running Frame you will experience the fun, freedom and excitement of running. These running frames are used by all ages for recreation and sport at a variety of levels including school, athletics clubs, therapy groups, social events and fun runs.

While new to Australia, the sport of Frame Running has been gaining popularity since the runners were invented in Denmark in 1991 and it’s now a World Para Athletic event with over 28 countries competing at the World Games.

Frame Running is suitable for anyone who is unable to functionally walk or run. Open to all ages from 3 to 103 – those who use a wheelchair, walkers or has an unsteady gait – the sport gives athletes with high support needs who cannot compete in a racing wheelchair and/or ambulant running events the unprecedented opportunity for aerobic competition on the athletics track.

We invite people with a disability, their families, medical professionals, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, sports scientists and anyone interested in checking out this sport along for the morning.
